Toronto Airport Taxi Fare Calculator
A fare calculator that shows its work: real route distance, published rates, and the complete formula — so you can verify every dollar of the number it gives you.
The calculator at /ride/ isn't an estimator bolted onto a booking form — it IS the booking engine, quoting the same fares it charges. Give it two addresses and it measures the driving route, applies the published rate card, and returns finished all-in totals for six vehicles. Because the formula is public, this page also does something calculators almost never do: it walks through the entire computation by hand, so you can check the machine.
What the calculator actually computes
Step one: route measurement. The engine asks Google's routing service for the real driving distance between your pickup and drop-off — the same request it makes when pricing a paid booking, so the calculator and the charge can never disagree.
Step two: the vehicle's base fare — measured kilometres times the per-km rate, or the vehicle's minimum fare, whichever is higher. Step three: fixed fees that apply to the trip (an airport pickup fee on pickups, and a per-vehicle extra-stop fee from $15). Step four: the percentages — 15% gratuity, 5% fuel on non-Sedan vehicles, then 13% HST, then a 2% card fee — compounding to the total you see.
The full worked example — check our math
Ajax to Pearson in the Sedan, a real 55.5 km route. Base fare: 55.5 × $1.98 = $109.89, which clears the $85 minimum. No pickup fee going TO the airport. Gratuity: $109.89 × 15% = $16.48, giving $126.37. The Sedan waives the fuel surcharge. HST: $126.37 × 13% = $16.43, giving $142.80. Card fee: 2% = $2.86. Total: $145.66 — exactly what the engine quotes for that route.
Run the same route as a pickup and the airport's $15.27 fee joins the base before the percentages, landing at $165.90. Every fare on this site decomposes the same way.
Why route-measured beats zone charts and guess-a-range
Zone pricing rounds your address to a rectangle; range estimators round your trip to a guess. Measuring the route prices the trip you're actually taking — Port Credit and Meadowvale are both "Mississauga," but they aren't the same drive, and a measured fare knows it.
Measurement also keeps the minimum-fare logic honest: when the calculator shows the same $112.67 Sedan total for two different GTA addresses, it's because both routes genuinely fall under the minimum's ~43 km reach, not because a zone chart flattened them.
Using the calculator well
Compare vehicles on your real route rather than assuming — for six passengers, one SUV usually beats two Sedans on both price and convenience. Test your alternate addresses; leaving from work instead of home can move a fare across the minimum boundary. And once the number works for you, the quote becomes a booking in the same flow — 3+ hours ahead online, or by phone at (416) 200-5070 for anything sooner.
- All six vehicles priced per calculation — compare per-person costs instantly
- Airport pickups automatically include the pickup fee; drop-offs never do
- Extra stops reprice the route inline
- The calculated fare is bookable as-is — same engine, same number

Frequently asked questions
Is the calculator's fare guaranteed?
Yes, once booked — the calculator and the billing engine are the same system, so the number can't drift between quoting and charging.
Can I calculate a fare for any two addresses?
Any drivable pair — home to Pearson, Pearson to a Niagara hotel, office to Billy Bishop. If a road route exists, it prices.
Why does my neighbour's fare match mine exactly?
You're both inside the Sedan minimum's ~43 km reach. Minimum fares flatten short-trip pricing by design — it's the honest version of a zone chart.
Does the calculator add taxes at the end?
It never shows a pre-tax number at all. Every figure it displays is the finished total with gratuity, HST and fees inside.
