Flat-Rate Taxi to Pearson Airport
One number, quoted before you ride, immune to traffic: how flat-rate service to Pearson actually works, and where the flat structure beats every metered alternative.
"Flat rate" gets used loosely in airport transport, so here is what it means on this service, precisely: your fare is computed from your route's measured distance before you book, it includes gratuity, HST and all fees, and nothing that happens during the drive can change it. A stalled Gardiner, a snow crawl on the 427, a wrong-turn detour — all priced at zero. This page explains the structure and when it matters most.
Flat rate versus the meter, structurally
A meter charges for what the trip turns out to be — distance plus time, resolved only when you arrive. A flat rate charges for what the trip is — the route you booked, priced once. Both are legitimate models; they just allocate risk differently. The meter hands traffic risk to the passenger. The flat rate keeps it with the operator.
That allocation is why flat rates shine exactly when airport travel is most stressful: rush hour, storms, and construction season — the moments a meter runs hottest are the moments a flat fare quietly does nothing.
How Pearson's curb works if you haven't pre-booked
Pearson operates designated taxi and limousine zones at each terminal's curb, with fares set by destination zone rather than a running meter — the airport's own transportation pages describe the system. It works, and for a spontaneous ride it's the official route.
Pre-booking changes three things: you know your exact fare before landing rather than at the curb; your vehicle is committed to you specifically, with your flight tracked; and you choose the vehicle class — six of them — rather than taking the next car in the line.
What the flat fare looks like in practice
Going to Pearson, the Sedan runs $112.67 all-in from most GTA addresses — the minimum fare's reach covers roughly 43 driving kilometres. Beyond it, distance prices at $1.98/km: Ajax $145.66, Hamilton $164.66, Kitchener-Waterloo $229.19. Coming from Pearson, add the airport's $15.27 pre-arranged pickup fee and the same math holds.
Those totals are finished numbers. No tip decision at the curb, no tax added at the end, no fuel line item on the Sedan.
The fine print, published
A flat-rate promise is only as good as its exceptions, so here are all of them: changing the trip changes the fare (new addresses, added stops at their per-vehicle fee, from $15, plus distance, a bigger vehicle); airport pickups carry the airport's flat fee; meet & greet is an optional $65. That's the entire list — there are no waiting-time meters on tracked flights and no surcharges for hour, weather, or holiday.

Frequently asked questions
Is a flat rate always cheaper than the meter?
Not always — on an empty road at 5am the two can be close. It's on congested runs that the flat structure wins, and it never loses to itself: the quote can't drift upward the way a meter can.
Does my flat rate change if my flight is late?
No. Your flight number is tracked and the pickup follows the actual landing. The fare booked is the fare charged.
Do flat rates apply at 3am or on holidays?
Yes — the same rate card prices every hour of every day. Overnight and holiday rides quote identically to weekday afternoons.
How do I get my flat rate?
Instantly at /ride/, or by phone at (416) 200-5070. Enter the route, see every vehicle's all-in total, book the one that fits.
